Features, schedules, and conditions for the visit The established circuits and routes have the following features, schedules, and conditions:
Comprises the agricultural sector of Kallancas, which includes: Upper and lower platforms near the Guardian's house; terrace area prior to the Puente Inca sector; platforms below the Guardian's house; and the path to Machu Picchu mountain. The visit and/or access to these sectors depends on one of the following routes chosen by the visitor:
This option allows visitors to visit Machu Picchu Mountain. To access this route, visitors must first pass through the main entrance control to the Inca city of Machu Picchu at the following two (2) times:
Visitors entering during the first schedule must report to the Machupicchu Mountain access control post at 8:00 a.m. at the latest, and those entering during the second schedule must report to the aforementioned control post at 10:00 a.m. at the latest for registration.
The maximum time spent in Machupicchu Mountain between check-in and check-out from the Machupicchu Mountain checkpoint is four (4) hours.
The maximum time of permanence in the Inca city of Machupicchu, after having traveled the Machupicchu Mountain Route, is one (1) hour. Then, visitors who enter during the first schedule must leave Machupicchu Inka City by 1:00 p.m. at the latest and visitors during the second schedule by 3:00 p.m. at the latest.
It comprises the agricultural sector, including the following structures: kallancas, upper platform, and terrace area prior to the Puente Inka sector. The maximum stay time in the Inca city of Machu Picchu for Route 1-B is two (2) hours and thirty (30) minutes.
This route allows visiting the last section of the Inca Trail from the Inca city of Machu Picchu to the Sun Gate (Intipunku). The tour lasts approximately two (2) hours round trip.
The maximum stay time in the Inca city of Machu Picchu, after completing Route 1-C, is two (2) hours.
This route allows traversing the Inca Trail from the upper terraces of the agricultural sector located northwest of the Guardian's House to the Inka Bridge. The tour lasts approximately one (1) hour round trip. The maximum stay time in the Inca city of Machu Picchu, after completing Route 1-D, is two (2) hours.
It includes the agricultural sector and urban sectors covering: platforms associated with the Guardian's House; Inca city Punku; entrance to the urban sector; Quarry sector and Temple of the Sun viewpoint; Botanical Garden space; Main Temple and Temple of the Three Windows; Sacred Rock and Qolqas sector. Near the end of the route, visitors can choose to visit the Hall of Mirrors or the Temple of the Condor.
The maximum stay time in the Inca city of Machu Picchu for Route 2-A is two (2) hours and thirty (30) minutes.
A variant of Route 2-A that prioritizes access to the lower terrace, it similarly includes the agricultural sector and urban sectors covering: platforms associated with the Guardian's House; Inca city Punku; entrance to the urban sector; Quarry sector and Temple of the Sun viewpoint; Botanical Garden space; Main Temple and Temple of the Three Windows; Sacred Rock and Qolqas sector. Near the end of the route, visitors can choose to visit the Hall of Mirrors or the Temple of the Condor.
The maximum stay time in the Inca city of Machu Picchu for Route 2-B is two (2) hours and thirty (30) minutes.
This option allows visitors to visit Waynapicchu Mountain. To access this route, visitors must first pass through the main entrance control to the Inca city of Machu Picchu at the following two (2) times:
Visitors entering in the first time slot must check in at the Waynapicchu Mountain access control point no later than 8:00 hours, and those entering in the second time slot must check in at the mentioned control point no later than 11:00 hours for registration.
The maximum stay time on Waynapicchu Mountain between entry registration and exit registration, from the Waynapicchu Mountain control point, is three (3) hours.
The maximum stay time in the Inca city of Machu Picchu, after completing the Waynapicchu Mountain Route, is one (1) hour.
Visitors entering in the first time slot must depart from the Inca city of Machu Picchu no later than 12:00 hours, and visitors from the second time slot no later than 14:00 hours.
It includes the agricultural sector and urban sectors covering: agricultural platforms associated with the Qolqas sector; Water Sources; Temple of the Sun; Inka House; Enclosure of the Three Doorways; Enclosure of the Twelve Windows; Qolqas sector. Visitors will have the option, near the end of the route, to visit the Hall of Mirrors or the Temple of the Condor.
The maximum stay time in the Inca city of Machu Picchu for Route 3-B is two (2) hours and thirty (30) minutes.
This option allows visiting the Grand Cave (Temple of the Moon). To access this route, visitors must first pass through the main entrance control to the Inca city of Machu Picchu at the following two (2) times:
Visitors entering in the first time slot must check in at the Waynapicchu Mountain access control point no later than 08:00 hours, and those entering in the second time slot must check in at the mentioned control point no later than 11:00 hours for registration.
Once past the Waynapicchu Mountain control point, a stretch is covered until the descent fork to the Grand Cave (Temple of the Moon) where there is signage and/or PANM control personnel. This route does not allow ascent to the top of Waynapicchu Mountain
The maximum stay time in the Grand Cave (Temple of the Moon) between entry registration and exit registration, from the Waynapicchu Mountain control point, is four (4) hours.
The maximum stay time in the Inca city of Machu Picchu, after completing the Grand Cave Route (Temple of the Moon), is one (1) hour.
Visitors entering in the first time slot must depart from the Inca city of Machu Picchu no later than 13:00 hours, and visitors from the second time slot no later than 16:00 hours.
This option allows visitors to visit Huchuypicchu Mountain. To access this route, visitors must first pass through the main entrance control to the Inca city of Machu Picchu at two (2) times
Visitors entering in the first time slot must check in at the Waynapicchu Mountain access control point no later than 12:00 hours, and those entering in the second time slot must check in at the mentioned control point no later than 14:00 hours for registration.
Once past the Waynapicchu Mountain control point, a stretch will be covered until the ascent control point to Huchuypicchu Mountain. This route does not allow ascent to the top of Waynapicchu Mountain or to the Grand Cave (Temple of the Moon).
The maximum stay time on Huchuypicchu Mountain between entry registration and exit registration, from the Waynapicchu Mountain control point, is one (1) hour.
The maximum stay time in the Inca city of Machu Picchu, after completing the Huchuypicchu Route, is one (1) hour and thirty (30) minutes.
Visitors entering in the first time slot must depart from the Inca city of Machu Picchu no later than 14:30 hours, and visitors from the second time slot no later than 16:30 hours.
For the routes 1-A (Machu Picchu Mountain), 1-D (Inka Bridge), 3-A (Waynapicchu Mountain), and 3-C (Grand Cave [Temple of the Moon]), visitors must meet the following requirements:
The authorization and establishment of routes outside the Inca city of Machu Picchu are carried out in coordination between the Ministry of Culture and the SERNANP, with the opinion of MINCETUR.
